#TREND MICRO HOUSECALL REVIEW CODE#

When I got cover for a second device as soon as I put in code it put the cover on my phone, even though I put code in on a new desktop, at this point I put in a second email address to try and get it to work (.

They won't respond to emails so I'll share what happened.

PLEASE avoid them! P.S Their security software has been great, and I never had a virus on my computer with it. At this point I don’t know if I am going to get the refund I asked for but I am sick to my stomach after having spent the last 5 hours talking to incompetent customer “support”. This is a bug in their installer that they refuse to acknowledge.

#TREND MICRO HOUSECALL REVIEW UPDATE#

After repeating all the information from the transcripts to update him, he’s now suggesting that my computer is too old to run the very same software that it was running, fully updated, about 7 days ago before I did the factory reset. He also asked me to remote access my computer, which was still a no. Which he would know if he’d actually read the transcripts as he’d said. He said he did so (a lie), then proceeded to ask me to do the exact same things the previous agent had done, including asking for information I had already told her. Once the chat started I had to give him my ticket number (again) and asked him to read the transcript from the prior chat so we wouldn’t repeat the same diagnostic steps. Again, he didn’t bother reading the details from the form I had to fill out before starting the chat. So I started the chat process again, this time with one Julius Kristopher Rebuva. I did the reset, responded to an automated email, no response. She then asked me if she could remotely access my computer (denied, I’m not giving a stranger access to that for something so simple), then had me use the Trend Micro diagnostic toolkit to delete the temp files, uninstall the program, and restart my computer-assuring me I would receive an email from her where we could keep the conversation going or she would call me because she had my number. I explained I had already done all those things multiple times to no success. Then she asked for my computer stats, licence number for the software, and for me to delete the file, restart my computer, and download a new one. She asked me to wait 5 more minutes, to which I explained again that I had dome this multiple times-at one point even leaving my computer for an hour to run the program-and it always remained unresponsive. While it was frozen, I sent Joyce my Task Monitor stats for CPU usage etc., then force quit the process.

I didn’t check that it was the same one because I didn’t believe they’d do something so stupid but after trying to install that one and having it freeze just like the first, I checked the version number and it was the same as the one I’d already been trying previously. I told her it was Trend Micro Antivirus-, then she linked me to the same version of the installer saying to try that one as it was the most recent one. Next, the first agent (Joyce Ann Ilaw) asked which version of the installer file I had used. Entering the chat, both agents I spoke to at separate times disregarded all the prefilled info and asked me for the information they already had again, wasting my time. DETAILED BREAKDOWN: To contact them, I first filled out a form which included my operating system details, and, the second time I filled out the same form, my ticket number. Even their copy/paste responses are poor English (I got the same paragraph from two different people), which I don't understand. I contacted customer support and to frankly summarise they were incompetent, did not seem to read what I said, lied, took a long time to respond, and have poor English. When trying to install the same program again, it didn't work.

This year after renewing my license for about $90, I factory reset my computer. I have been a loyal customer for the better part of 10 years (I started using Trend Micro security software as a teen). UPDATE: Got a refund which is something, at least.
